Build a full cost picture

Separate tuition, living expenses, travel, insurance, and other published charges. Record the currency, year, and source of each figure. Keep estimates clearly marked. Do not treat a scholarship application or an informal possibility as confirmed funding.

Check eligibility and award terms

Merit-based and need-based aid are governed by the awarding body’s rules. Read eligibility, required documents, selection criteria, coverage, renewal conditions, and separate application instructions. Ask the administrator about ambiguous terms; nationality or study level may affect eligibility.

Keep sensitive evidence secure

Financial aid processes may require private documents. Use only official, authorized submission channels. Make a funding plan that accounts for unresolved decisions and read the actual award letter before relying on it. No consulting service can guarantee that a funding body will make an award.
